In-Store and Email Privacy Policy

Masterton Print and Copy - Your privacy matters to us

At Masterton Print and Copy, we respect your privacy and take the handling of your personal information seriously. Whether you contact us by email, visit us in-store, request a printing service or provide files for us to print, we only use your information for legitimate business purposes connected with providing our services to you.

We are a locally operated business, and we believe your personal information should be treated with care, kept secure and not retained longer than necessary.

How we use your information

We may collect your name, contact details, correspondence, artwork, documents, photographs and other information you provide when requesting a service. We use this information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, complete printing and copying work, communicate with you, process payments and manage our business records.

We do not sell your personal information or use your private documents, photographs or artwork for unrelated purposes. We do not disclose your information to other parties except where necessary to provide a service, use a service provider, comply with the law or otherwise as permitted by law.

Email, artwork and document deletion

We understand that customers may send us private or commercially sensitive information, including documents and files intended only for printing.

Our aim is to delete customer emails, supplied files and other temporary information within 30 days of the relevant enquiry or completed job, once the information is no longer needed. This is a target for routine deletion, not a guarantee that every copy will be removed within 30 days.

We may retain information for longer where it is necessary to complete a service, resolve a query or complaint, deal with a warranty or dispute, maintain appropriate business records, or meet legal and accounting obligations. Certain records, including tax and transaction records, must be retained for legally required periods.

Where information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete it securely or destroy it. We also take reasonable care when handling customer files and limit access to people who need the information to carry out their work.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, use, alteration or disclosure. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Please let us know if you believe your personal information has been handled incorrectly or you have concerns about a file or email you have supplied to us.

Your privacy rights

Under New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you and request that inaccurate information be corrected. You can also ask us to delete information where we no longer have a lawful reason to retain it. Some information may need to be retained where required or permitted by law.
